diminish now available on bandcamp and soundcloud

I’m gradually releasing some collections of songs I’ve been working on since the beginning of 2021. The first is Diminish (Notes from a Siege IV) which covers the period December 2021 to late February 2022.

Here are links to the album. I’ll eventually post them on Spotify and elsewhere too.

New releases 'notes from a siege, part I' and 'airshaft' now available

I’ve released two more albums from the ‘back catalog’ of pieces I’ve recorded since starting this journey a couple of years ago. The albums are on Bandcamp now and will be put on Soundcloud next, then Spotify etc.

Chronologically speaking, ‘airshaft’ is the first one, composed of pieces written in 2019. As I was doing a fair bit of travelling back then, you might be able to hear some of the influences — Indonesia, the UK (Peak District) and Tasmania. I love all three places and love that I can bring my equipment along with me.

I have promised myself to try to get one more album out before Christmas, and then I’ll stop. Possibly.

New album, Poll, released

I’ve uploaded poll here, on Soundcloud, and Bandcamp (where you can buy hi-res versions of the pieces. Your support is greatly appreciated.)

poll is a collection of pieces written before, during and after the recent U.S. presidential election, as some of the titles may suggest. As with all my composing, I try to complete a piece as quickly as possible; if the sounds and notes come together, all good, and if not I discard the piece. I am a creature of my time, so each piece is usually a reflection in some way of what’s going on around me, and how I’m processing it (the music, too, is a form of processing it.)

I am working to release more albums before the end of the year; they’ll probably come out in reverse chronological order. I’m not quite sure why I did it that way around, but at least within each album the pieces are arranged chronologically.
